Meet Ngahina Richards

Author, health science professional and creator of Total Sensory Wellbeing, a practical approach for people and businesses looking to improve how they live, work, and engage with the environments around them.

I created this work because I needed it. My own search for clarity, calm and a way to feel like myself again led me to uncover how much our senses shape our daily experiences, and how they influence how we respond to the spaces and people around us.

If you’ve ever felt like me, please know you are not incapable or failing, you’re navigating a world that overwhelms the very systems designed to help you feel calm, clear and in control.

Wellbeing isn’t one-size-fits-all, and it’s not just about green juices, rigid routines or burning candles. My work is for people who are curious about real-world, sustainable ways to feel and function better by understanding how their senses shape their everyday experience.

What if your senses held the key to how you feel, function, and engage with the world around you?

Why Total Sensory Wellbeing (TSW) Matters

Sensory inputs aren’t just background noise, they shape your thoughts, moods and how you engage with the world around you.

From a desire to feel more resilient in my own life, I connected the dots across neuroscience, environmental psychology and other disciplines to create Total Sensory Wellbeing, a practical, evidence-informed framework for navigating a fast, noisy world.

Your senses shape how you feel, think and act every day. In a virtual-first world, understanding this impact isn’t just useful, it’s essential.

Most wellbeing strategies overlook this. But your senses are operating 24/7, not just during a massage or meditation. With the right awareness, your senses become practical tools for daily resilience, mental clarity and calm in your day-to-day life.

It’s not about adding more to your life, it’s about working with what’s already there.

These same patterns extend beyond the individual, shaping how people interact within shared spaces, workplaces, and business environments.

Sensory Insights and Solutions

Whether you’re looking to improve your own energy and focus, or understand how environments influence behaviour in shared or business settings, this work can be applied in both contexts.

For Individuals

Discover your unique sensory profile using the Sensory Intelligence® methodology.

I offer individual sessions and tailored programs to help you understand how your environment affects your sensory profile, and what you can do about it.

Perfect for:

  • Professionals navigating fatigue, overwhelm or burnout

  • People seeking more supportive, harmonious environments as they balance home and work

  • Those looking for greater clarity, focus and flow in everyday life

For Businesses

I work with businesses to assess how people experience a space, and identify practical adjustments that influence how customers engage, move, and respond.

Relevant for:

  • When the space looks right, but something doesn’t feel quite right

  • When people don’t use the space the way you expected

  • When clients or customers don’t fully settle, engage, or stay as long as you’d like

  • When the experience isn’t working as well as it should, but you can’t pinpoint why

Grounded in science. Guided by insight.

I have a background in health science, with extensive corporate experience in commercial and operational leadership roles. I am also a certified Sensory Intelligence® Practitioner. My professional and lived experience allow me to combine scientific findings, human-centric insights and practical strategies to help people, organisations, and businesses notice and understand what affects behaviour, energy, and interaction within their environments.
