Rethink how spaces shape how you feel and function.

Create conditions that support energy, clarity and engagement.

At home, at work and in the environments where we do business, the conditions around us influence how we think, behave and engage. Understanding these influences can help us make more intentional choices about the spaces, habits and routines that shape daily life.

Your environment is shaping your thoughts, mood and behaviour more than you realise.

The jarring sound of your alarm, the chatter in open-plan offices, the uplifting aroma of coffee, and the relentless light from your screen, are just some of the daily experiences we have, and they all add up. Without realising it, your brain is constantly:

Filtering, adapting and blocking sensory inputs. They shape our feelings, thoughts and actions, and how we interact with the spaces and people around us. This is happening every day in every home, workplace and every commercial setting.

It’s easy to assume that feeling ‘wired and tired’ is caused by a racing mind. But modern-day environments also play a major role in mental fatigue and scattering our focus. They’re often why you feel drained, even on a ‘normal’ day.

Our sensory systems evolved to function in slower, simpler environments. Today, we’re surrounded by stimulation our brains weren’t built for. This often results in:

• Brain fog
• Stress
• Poor mood
• Difficulty making decisions

Yet most of us barely notice our senses until we’re running on empty.

But this isn’t something you have to put up with. Once you understand how environments influence attention, energy and behaviour, you can begin making changes that better support how you and others feel, function and engage.

When you learn to work with your senses, life changes

Imagine moving through your day with steady energy, clearer thinking and fewer moments of overwhelm.

Instead of waking up tired and running on adrenaline, you move through tasks with more clarity, fewer crashes and a better sense of when and how to recharge.

This comes from understanding the interplay of your senses, and learning to work with them in simple, practical ways.  A concept I refer to as Total Sensory Wellbeing (TSW).

Beyond personal benefits, TSW principles can be just as impactful in shaping how people feel and behave in commercial environments as well.

Sustainable Energy

Move through your day with steadier energy and fewer crashes, supported by your environment rather than drained by it.

Clear Focus

Cut through sensory ‘noise’ and maintain the clarity needed for focused work and decision-making.

Calm Under Pressure

Stay calm and present, even on busy days and in demanding environments.

The same principles don’t just apply to your personal life.
They shape how people respond to business environments, workplaces, and other shared spaces.

How easily someone settles into a space, where their attention goes, and how they engage is influenced long before a conversation begins.

Beyond Personal Wellbeing

The same environmental influences that affect personal wellbeing also shape how people focus, engage and behave within workplaces and commercial environments.

Understanding this can help businesses create spaces that better support employees, clients and customers.

Hi, I’m Ngahina Richards.

I help people reset their energy, focus and sense of wellbeing by learning how to work with their senses and not against them.

I also work with individuals and businesses to understand how environments affect behaviour, engagement, and how people respond in a space.

As a qualified Sensory Intelligence® practitioner, with a background in health science, and author of Come to Your Senses, I combine science with real-life strategies that work. What started as a personal quest to feel better in a fast, noisy world has become a practical framework I now share with others.
